Translation by Nina York of a book first published in 1856 by a Danish Naturalist visiting the islands, then known as the Danish West Indies. The original written about 1850 detailed the beautiful environment and the lifestyle of St. Croix, an island once termed "the bread basket of the Caribbean." This book is double-sided with one side written in the original Danish and the other side in the English translation. A good book to have.
