As we continue to enjoy near perfect weather, the Artisan Fair at Whim Plantation Museum saw the arrival of the snowbirds, whom we welcome back to our shores. This year, as an added treat, there is a Guavaberry Liqueur contest to find out who has the best concoction for the season!
The vendors were out in full force for the early Christmas shoppers.
In and outside the big tent.
Vendors galore.
The Guavaberry Contest took place under the Paradise 93.5 Radio Station's big tent. Guavaberries are small blueberry-like fruit which grow locally in the Caribbean. They add their unique flavor to tarts, ice cream, vienna cakes, liqueur and rum - all made locally.
The contestants gave out samples to the crowd eager to judge for themselves.
Food was also on sale for the hungry crowd.
Cooking outdoors is a tradition in the Caribbean.
Then it was time for the entertainment. First the High School Band played traditional Christmas music.
The traditional quadrille dance was demonstrated.
The last tastings before the judging of the Guavaberry Competition.
