| Driving
to Christiansted for the St. Patrick's Day Parade, the traffic from
West to East was detoured from King Street onto Peter's Farm
Road. We went up and over the hills to find parking in town. |
We joined the parade already in procession on King Street, having already gone down Company Street. Many interested people lined the street to watch the procession. |

This year, grass skirts were the rage. Beer is always in vogue and was everywhere, as were water pistols. |
| |
| |

On a hot day like this, water pistols offer a welcome relief. |
| |
| |
Fiddling away... |
| |
| |
| |
| |
Lots of green. |
| |
| |
And the women began to dance together as sisters. |
| |
| |
| |
| |
And one man joins the ladies. |
| |

The crowds, visitors from Denmark among them. They must think this Irish thing is pretty interesting. |
| |
| |
| |
| |
Some tall cool drinks and a green doggie. |
| |
| |
Jello shots. Liquor and a sunny day. Such a combination will soon have you kissing the Blarney Stone. |
| |
| |
But water pistols will cool you down and are a whole lot of fun for the little ones. |
| |
| |
Then, the hula dances began to rock music and there was a lucky leprechaun who didn't want to give up his money without some kind of trickery. |
| |
| |
A big float with dancing people rocking the platform. |
| |
| |
All in the name of fun before the solemnity of Holy Week begins. |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |
A real land yacht with hood ornaments. |
| |
| |
Some cars have horsepower and some rely on people power. The Flintstone-mobile. |
| |
| |
| |
| |
Who knows what this costume represents. |
| |
| |
| |
| |
Then, when the trash bins have been rolled by, we know that it is time to say one last hurrah! |
