First there was the race car display. |
Lots of muscle under the hood. |
A mini dragster. |
And St. Thomas sent their best. |
There were the nattily dressed Gentlemen of Jones. |
And there were big bands coming down the street with singers on top. |
The Mocko
Jumbies were all dressed so colorfully. Some of the crowd was frightened by their height! |
Running in slow motion! |
More revelers. |
Queen Mary organizes the Fireburn crowd. |
The Ladies of the Fireburn days enjoyed a life of luxury and leisure. |
The Ladies went on as if they had not a care in the world. |
Then the slaves grew angry and rebellion was afoot. They collaborated on a course of action. |
The attack was on. |
Queen Mary, Queen Matilda, Queen Agnes and Bottom Belly and their crowd burned down part of the town in the great Fireburn! |
And then the four Queens were led away to prison in Denmark. |
The crowd watches the action. |
Meanwhile, lots of other troupes were waiting anxiously for their turn to perform. |
These ladies were serious about their dancing. |
There were gigantic speakers providing solid walls of sound! |
Then there was the traditional steel pan troupe of young pan players. |
And there were more colorful troupes. |
This troupe had undulating costumes representing the waves of the sea. |
The bounty of the rainforest was represented by this troupe. |
And there were the big glittery costume floats. |
The Trinidadian mud truck dispensing the mud. |
And a set of mud revelers. |
Another costume float. |
A sparkling white costumed troupe. |
The Lockhart troupe pulled up the rear. |
The smiles gave away how much fun was had by all. |
