J'ouvert Celebration - Frederiksted
J'ouvert is the celebration which opens the New Year with masquerading and revelry reaching a crescendo as a tramp of scantily clad individuals beginning at 5AM. Literally, J'ouvert means "I Open". A person will seemingly come alive, once again, in a new year. In earlier times it was known as "Foreday Marnin'" because it was so early in the day before first light. This year the Fabulous Stroka Band, Extaushun Band, Digital Band and X-Press Band all accompanied the J'ouvert celebration.
Crucian-Rican Tramp - Christiansted
Christiansted also was awakened early on Thursday morning by a tramp accompanied by Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights. They truly have been sleepless this Festival season.
Old Time Breakfast - Christiansted Market
After the Christiansted Tramp, there was an "Ole Timey Breakfast" at the Christian "Shan" Hendricks Vegetable Market in the heart of town.
Saltfish and Johnny cakes, Dumb Bread and other traditional foods were served.
Food, Arts and Crafts Fair - Frederiksted
Food Fair 2007
Festival would not be the same without the culinary delights of local cooks who keep the traditional foods of our culture alive and on our palates. This year the Fair was in honor of Ireece Joseph one of our preserve makers.

Contract Day - Fireburn Re-enactment
October 1 was traditionally the day when all labor contracts were renewed for the workers on the various Estates. The Fireburn of 1878 is re-enacted on this day. The Fireburn was a conflagration that took place when the four Queens rallied the workers to burn down part of Frederiksted Town and some of the Greathouses.

St. George Village Botanical Gardens will host this event at its museum store from 10AM to 4PM.

Christmas Spoken Here
Today, from 11:00AM to 5:00PM at St. George Village Botanical Gardens the Annual Christmas Spoken Here event will take place. There will be caroling every hour by various choral groups, vendors selling food and items for the holidays and the display of the decorated trees. In addition, there will be a Christmas Cooks Food Contest for Sweet Bread, Vienna Cake, Tarts and Drinks.
Cruzan Latin-Caribbean Pig Roast
Today from 9:00AM to 9:00PM the Cruzan Latin-Caribbean Pig Roast Festival Organization will host its 3rd Annual Pig Roast. The event takes place at the Armapavie Ballpark in Castle Coakley adjacent to the Hess Road. 15 or 16 cooks will enter their porcine delights - all cooking at the same time. Prizes for the top three. Music is by Jamsie and the All Stars and Tierra Adentro.

Calypso Monarch Eliminations
The Crucian Christmas Festival Committee will be hosting the Calypso Monarch Eliminations starting at 8:00PM tonight at HarborLights in Frederiksted. 14 contestants will enter but only 7 will emerge to go on tot he finals!

Armstrong Guavaberry Ice Cream Day
This day only from morning till night Armstrong Ice Cream - an icon on the island of St. Croix will have available its famous Guavaberry Ice Cream - just for the season.

Boat Parade - Christiansted Harbour
Tonight at sunset, several pleasure craft of St. Croix will put on a display of lights, each trying to outdo the other entrants as they cut a lighted trail through the harbor. You decide who is the most beautiful. There will be carolling on the boardwalk as well as a fireworks display courtesy of HOVENSA.
